The Guitar Man Blues is the story of a woman in love with a man who cannot stop playing his guitar long enough to notice her, to love her, and to put her at the top of his priority list. She resents playing second fiddle to his beloved guitar and dreams about having his hands touch her as lovingly as they touch his guitar.
‘The other night I saw him sniffing his guitar, wild sniffs, not ordinary flower picking sniffs, but the root hog kind where he’s searching for something smelling female. The way I wish he’d do my body when he slips into bed at night hardly aware I’m lying next to him smoldering from a passion only the fire department could put out’.
The story is told in a wildly comic bluesy style by a woman, who is so mad with passion she takes her man’s beloved guitar to the pawn shop, all the time worrying about how sad he is going to be over the loss of his only love.
